    That Design Contest

When entering a contest is worth it, and when it isn't.

When a contest is worth it and when it isn't

Professionals should look for challenging contests, with good prizes. The sponsoring company should have a good name even if it's not a top brand, and the prize money should be within the realm of your typical design fee.

Newbie designers should still shop around for contests that have good prizes with big-name sponsors, but it wouldn't hurt to try a few lower profile contests for experience points and resume builders. You'll get your name out there, make new connections, and build a resume for the future.
