    3. Navigation that's easy to follow

    As the seller, you should be the expert about your product or service. When you pitch to someone, however, it still has to be organized into an easy-to-understand format. This is where making an outline becomes crucial.

    Your site navigation should work as logically as that outline: big topics first, then subtopics, and so on.

    Your sitemap, or the "table of contents" that categorizes and indexes all the content on your website, should be based on that same outline. It shows where things should fit, and what information should be shown in what order.

    4. Content that identifies and solves a problem

    Before a potential buyer is even interested in your product or service, they need to understand why it's necessary. By identifying the problem and emphasizing its consequences, you've created a need for a solution. The solution, of course, is then your company's product or service. This process is very commonly used in content marketing.

    In the same light, the content of your website should be presented to the audience in the same order:

    1. Identify and analyze a problem
    2. Present possible solutions, namely your service or product
    3. Present high-quality, relevant information to support your claims
    4. And lastly, hook them in with a call to action and keep in touch (more on that in a bit)
